A grab bag of chocolate covered kaki no tane rice crackers. Normal kaki no tane are a firm Japan Centre favourite and are a crunchy and spicy soy sauce rice cracker usually enjoyed with a cold beer. These have been covered with chocolate for a sweet outer layer and with an interesting, spicy soy sauce crunchy twist.
Japanese traditional senbei snacks are made of glutinous rice and come in all sorts of different flavours and shapes. Senbei rice crackers are round whereas arare are slightly smaller and vary in their appearance. Arare rice crackers are often mixed with nuts to create ‘otsumami’ snack foods that go perfectly with alcohol.
