A pack of mountain vegetable one-pot rice flavouring for perfect kamameshi rice made in a rice cooker or pan. This kamameshi one-pot rice flavouring contains lots of healthy mountain vegetables including bamboo shoots, shiitake mushroom, bracken, enoki mushrooms, nameko mushrooms and kikurage wood-ear plant. The sachet of delicious sauce is made from soy sauce and bonito caught in Yaizu, Japan’s premier bonito fishing port.
Kamameshi is a cooking style where rice is cooked together with vegetables and seasoning sauce in what traditionally was an iron pot, but is now more commonly a rice cooker. Described as a boiled version of fried rice, kamameshi is a great way to use up left over vegetables and make flavoursome one-pot rice meals.
To create enough kamameshi for 3 people:
• Rinse 3 cups of rice and add the correct amount of water as per your rice cooker, or a ratio of 1:1.3 rice to water if boiling in a pan.
• Drain the bag of vegetables and add them along with the seasoning sauce to the rice cooker or pan.
